Huntington Bank Chief Technology and Operations Officer Paul Heller will retire on March 1, the bank announced Wednesday.
Heller, who has worked in financial services for almost four decades, spent the last 12 years in the Columbus, Ohio bank’s top technology spot, taking charge of its information technology, operations, digital, payments and transformation initiatives.
“Paul has made many significant contributions to the company, and on behalf of our board of directors and colleagues, I thank him for his years of tremendous service,” said Huntington President and CEO Steve Steinour in a prepared statement.
“His leadership will have a lasting impact, and he has been a terrific partner to me and to the executive team. I wish him the best in his retirement,” Steinour said.
The Columbus native was previously at Chase Bank, where he began in 1995 as vice president in operations for credit services and rose in rank following Chase’s merger with JPMorgan to chief technology officer for the retail bank, CTO for the corporate internet group and CTO for the consumer bank.
Prior to banking, Heller worked for 10 years in management consulting, including at Andersen Consulting specializing in financial services.
With Heller’s retirement, three within the Huntington C-suite – Chief Enterprise Payments Officer Amit Dhingra; Chief Information Officer Kendall Kowalski; and Chief Corporate Operations Officer Prashant Nateri – will join Huntington's executive leadership team and report to Steinour.
